Pre-requisites for external cloud-based services
Ensure that all prerequisites are met before setting up external cloud-based services in the scope of the Qvaba Flexible Documents solution, reducing the likelihood of encountering issues during deployment:
- Active Azure subscription: Ensure that you have an active Azure subscription to create and manage Azure resources, including Azure Functions, Storage Accounts, and Universal Print services.
- Microsoft 365 licensing: For services like SharePoint and Microsoft Graph API, ensure that you have the appropriate Microsoft 365 licenses to access and use these services.
- Universal print license: Ensure you have a Universal Print license, which may be included in some Microsoft 365 plans or available as an add-on.
- Azure AD permissions: Users creating and managing these services should have the necessary Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) permissions, typically in the form of roles like Contributor, Owner, or specific roles for managing storage and functions.
- SharePoint admin permissions: Ensure that the person setting up SharePoint sites and Document Libraries has SharePoint Admin or Site Collection Admin permissions.
- Graph API permissions: Admin consent might be required for accessing certain Graph API functionalities. Ensure that the necessary permissions are granted for the application in Azure AD.
- File Share permissions: Ensure appropriate permissions are set up for accessing and managing file shares, including network share permissions and possibly integration with Azure AD.
- Azure AD application registration: Ensure that an application is registered in Azure AD to interact with the SharePoint and Microsoft Graph API. This registration requires setting up API permissions and possibly configuring client secrets or certificates.
