Copying settings

While configuring a portal page in the backoffice, the user can copy sets of settings This ability is available only available for select settings. It can save time when applying the same sets of settings to different pages, or if a new page must have the same settings as an already existing one.

When you copy settings, they are stored in the portal clipboard and are available at any time, allowing you to copy multiple settings sets, and then pasting them when necessary.

To copy a set of settings

  1.  In CMS go to the relevant page that contains the settings you want to copy.
  2.  Locate the settings that can be copied. Such settings have the  icon when you hover over them (fields, events, filters, width settings, member groups, etc.). In this example, we'll copy filter settings on the Data source tab of a grid page.
  3. Under the settings that you want to copy (add to the clipboard), select the  icon, and then select Copy [setting_name] where [setting_name] is the name of the setting.
  4. Go to the page to which the settings must be copied. You can also paste settings on the same page if necessary.
  5. Locate the place where you want to paste the copied settings (it must be the same setting type).
  6. Optionally, you can select the  icon, and then Remove all items to clear the current settings. Otherwise, the pasted settings will be added to the existing settings.
  7. Hover over the Add content bar, and then, at the end of the bar, select the  icon that appears.
  8. In the clipboard pane that is open, select a previously copied setting set that you want to paste.
