Setting up an Azure file share document storage
If you are going to use Azure file share document storage for generated documents (you can choose to do so in the general Flexible Documents Setup), you need to set up this storage first.
The Azure file share document storage allows you to store generated documents in a specific folder in a particular Azure File share.
To be able to use the Azure file share document storage in Qvaba Flexible Documents, the following must be configured
- A new storage account with an Azure file share must be created on Azure Portal.
- The link to the document storage folder in Azure file share of the corresponding storage account must Be set up in Flexible Documents Setup.
Create of storage account with an Azure file share
Configuring a storage account with an Azure file share document storage involves three stages:
- Creating a storage account in Azure.
- Creating a file share.
- Creating a directory for document storage.
Create a storage account in Azure
- Sign in to Azure Portal: go to https://portal.azure.com and sign in with your Azure credentials.
- Create a storage account:
- In the left-hand navigation pane, select Create a resource.
- Select Storage Account from the list of available services.
- Select Create to start the setup process.
- Configure the storage account:
- Subscription - Select the appropriate Azure subscription.
- Resource group - Choose an existing resource group or create a new one.
- Storage account name - Enter a unique name for your storage account.
- Region - Choose an Azure region closest to your users or the resources your storage account will interact with.
- Primary service - Select Azure Files.
- Performance - Keep the default value of Standard.
- Redundancy - Choose a replication strategy that matches your durability requirements.
- Review all the settings you’ve configured. If everything looks good, select Create to start the deployment. Once the deployment is completed, your storage account will be ready to use.
Create a file share
- In your storage account menu, under Data storage, select File shares.
- On the menu at the top of the File shares page, select + File share. The New file share page drops down.
- Specify the configurations of your file share on the New file share page, and then select Create.
Create a directory for document storage
- On the File share settings page, select your file share.
- On the menu at the top of the page, select + Add directory. The New directory page drops down.
- Specify your directory name, and then select OK.
